Missing person in South Brent area
Callout #18 - 16th & 17th June
At 23:26hrs on Monday 16th June the team were contacted by Devon & Cornwall Police to assist in the search for a vulnerable young adult male who had been missing since late on the 15th from the South Brent area.
A small party of team members attended overnight to search an area of particular concern, near South Brent, but were stood down approximately 03:30hrs whilst enquires were still ongoing.
The following morning Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team - Ashburton attended alongside our colleagues from Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team - Plymouth North Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team and Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England to help the police to follow up on a new sighting.
This took hill party searches to a different location about 4km away, on open moorland, where the missing person was located and requiring medical care.
We wish him a speedy recovery.
