Following a request from North Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team (NDSART), who were experiencing limited team availability for a missing person search in Exeter, several DSRT Ashburton members responded to assist.

While travelling to the incident, three of our team members noticed a pedestrian who appeared out of place. Upon arriving at the rendezvous point and receiving further information about the missing person, they realised the individual they had passed matched the description. They immediately returned to locate him and safely brought him back to the RV.

Thanks to their excellent situational awareness and quick thinking, the missing person was found promptly, saving many search hours and allowing resources to be stood down early.
