16th June – Bittaford Moor Gate
The call came in at 16.48 with details of a lost male near Red Lake Mire, high up on the south moor.
Drivers were put on standby whilst the search manager called Devon and Cornwall Police – who were able to give the person’s phone number and a location thought to be 95% accurate.

With the drivers underway, additional hill members were called to support whilst we sent a location finder lock to the man’s phone to narrow down the location.
Two Land Rovers with 3 extra members were sent to support, up the track to Red Lake.
The misper and his dog were collected at 18.34 and driven back to his car at Shipley Bridge car park. Everyone stood down around 19.30pm
