Missing person – Ideford Common

At 0900 the team were contacted to assist in the search for a missing individual at Ideford Common near Haldon Hill.

The search involved 4 dogs from Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England , a number of Devon and Cornwall police officers, our team and our colleagues from Exmoor Search & Rescue Team. We also asked East Cornwall Search & Rescue Team for assistance as our team was also preparing to deploy to 10 Tors that evening.

The individual was found mid-afternoon but was sadly deceased. Our thoughts are with his friends and family.

Our team then headed for the Dartmoor Training Centre near Two Bridges where we were based for the duration of the Ten Tors 2024 event.
