Missing person at Haldon Forest Park

We were called at 20:00 to assist in the search for a missing vulnerable 73 year old with dementia who had gone missing in the area north east of the Haldon Forest Park. Searches were carried out from the point last seen to a crossroads and tracks and trails leading from there into Haldon. Two dog teams searched wooded areas that led from his direction of travel.

Having searched the highest probability areas in a 300m radius and obvious routes away from the point last seen the search was suspended at 00:30 to restart in daylight.

We were called again the next day at 11.30 to restart the search. As we were deploying, he was found safe in Dunsford which was outside of our search area.

10 of our volunteers took part in this callout.
