During a sponsored walk event organised by Dartmoor SRT Ashburton on Sunday 19th April, one of the walkers collapsed suffering from heat-related exhaustion.

Team members were quickly on-scene to stabilise the female casualty in her 50’s, and then evacuate a short distance to a waiting Ambulance where, after receiving assessment and further treatment, was well enough to return home.

Team spokesman

A team spokesperson said that “due to the nature of the safety cover provided for the event, team members were well placed to respond rapidly and effectively to prevent her condition from worsening, and provide effective evacuation from a remote location.
