Callout 17/2022 - Dartmeet 16:00 16th June 2022
At approximately 1600 hrs on Thursday Devon and Cornwall Police contacted the rescue team with a request for us to provide assistance to a South West Ambulance Service Trust (SWAST) ambulance crew in bringing an injured patient along a difficult to access footpath in the Dart valley approximately 1 mile south of Dartmeet. An initial team of our volunteers with a stretcher were dispatched from their rendezvous point at Dartmeet to the injured person's location and within 5 minutes they encountered the ambulance crew and their injured patient walking back along the path towards them. The patient, a 70 year old lady, had fallen from slippery rocks and had sustained a painful leg injury, but after medical intervention by the ambulance crew she was found to be fit enough to walk with assistance back towards Dartmeet.
