Concern for missing vulnerable 59 year old from Exeter

At 19:53 on Tuesday 30th August, a full team callout was issued by Devon and Cornwall Police who had requested assistance in the search for a 59-year-old vulnerable female from Exeter. The lady had gone missing around 4pm and given her neighbours cause for concern.

Our volunteers, assisted by our colleagues at North Dartmoor Search and Rescue, searched ground around the Ide / St Thomas / Pocombe Bridge area of the city with no sign of the lady’s whereabouts being discovered.

After completing our assigned search areas the Dartmoor teams were stood down around 02:00 on Wednesday morning.

The Police continued their investigation and the lady was found by officers to have returned home at around 10:00.

A good outcome for all. The search is another example of how Mountain Rescue Teams work together with the statutory emergency services and cover areas beyond the mountains. #MoreThanJustMountains
