Exeter search following report of missing vulnerable person

A full team callout was issued at 20:29 on Tuesday 24th March to search for a vulnerable adult who had been reported missing in the Countess wear area of Exeter.

Dartmoor Search and Rescue Ashburton, affiliated to Mountain Rescue England and Wales has a Swift Water Rescue capability comprising of a team of Swift Water Rescue Technicians

Devon and Cornwall Police were sufficiently concerned for his safety to initiate a multi agency response consisting of, Police, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue swift water rescue team, an NPAS Police helicopter, North Dartmoor Search and Rescue and our own search teams including our swift water rescue team.

The response

The response concentrated on the River Exe and Exeter Canal areas in the city to the north and south of Countess wear bridge with both foot and water teams being deployed.

We were stood down shortly before 01:00 on the 25th March as the missing person returned to his home.
