Callout 20th February Chumleigh
The evening of Monday 20th February saw Dartmoor Search and Rescue Ashburton team members join colleagues from DSRT Okehampton, DSRT Tavistock, Exmoor Search and Rescue and search dogs from Cornwall.
Devon and Cornwall police were concerned for the welfare of a person believed to in an area close to Chulmleigh. At the height of the search 60 members were involved searching farm and wood land.
Missing person located
At 2300 as we were finishing our primary search areas we received information that the missing person had been located outside of our search area, allowing us to go home to our beds.
This callout was a great example of neighbouring Mountain Rescue teams working together, allowing large areas to be searched quickly and effectively.
